Independents all

This seems a really cool idea. My 'improved' take on it is as follows.

How about all the candidates contest as independents? They can profess allegiance to one/two/three pillars at the central govt level. They are not party men. They can freely criticize or embrace ideas and hence parties. Vote/oppose ideas in the parliament.

A progressive candidate with professed 'BJP like' ideologies that wants not to be associated with animals like Varun Gandhi will welcome this. Anyways in the Indian system most election action from fund raising to campaigning happens at the candidate/constituency level. He/she can ask similar well-known people to camapign for him based on ideas. A progressive candidate with professed 'BJP like' ideologies can request people who accept their ideas to campaign for them - e.g. Arun Shouire on economy, Narayana Murthy on IT, Kumble on sports policy etc.

This is the 'long tail' of politics. The real 2.0 of politics
